Jaycos spend months parked and then thousands of kilometres on the road. Both extremes attack the surface differently, and Fireball Silla+ is built for exactly this.
What Jayco paint is actually like
Fibreglass composite panels with a gel-coat or painted finish, plus large areas of aluminium checkerplate and moulded plastic. Each surface needs its own approach.
What we see most on Jaycos
Oxidation and chalking
Months in open storage under Queensland sun chalks the gel-coat, especially on the roof and the northern-facing side.
Black streaking
Water running off the roof leaves the classic black streaks down the sides. Coated panels shed them far more easily.
Bug and bitumen build-up
The front panel and A-frame area bake on contamination over highway kilometres.
Checkerplate and trim staining
Aluminium and plastic trim oxidise and stain on a different timeline to the panels.
How we prep a Jayco before coating
Preparation is the job. The coating is the last hour of it.

Full inspection under LED and swirl-finder lighting, with paint depth readings recorded panel by panel.

Two-bucket hand wash, wheels and arches degreased, badges and shuts cleaned out.

Chemical iron and industrial fallout removal, then a clay treatment to lift bonded contamination.

Tape-up of trim, rubbers and sensitive edges before any machine work.

Oxidised gel-coat compounded back to gloss — this is the stage that makes the biggest visual difference on a van.

Bugs and bitumen dissolved from the front panel and A-frame before any mechanical work.

Fireball Silla+ applied — the RV and marine-rated coating, not the automotive product.

Panel wipe with a coating-safe solvent to strip polishing oils and reveal the true finish.

Fireball ceramic coating applied by hand, levelled panel by panel under controlled lighting.

IR / controlled cure, then a final inspection and handover pack with aftercare instructions.
