What Ford paint is actually like
Medium hardness clear coat with reasonable film build. Meteor Grey, Shadow Black and Arctic White are the finishes we see most; the darker two show every defect.

Trade Rangers cop concrete slurry, render and overspray that etches if left on the paint.
Tub, tailgate and canopy scuffs
Loading damage is concentrated on the tailgate top edge and tub rails.

How we prep a Ford before coating
Preparation is the job. The coating is the last hour of it.

Full inspection under LED and swirl-finder lighting, with paint depth readings recorded panel by panel.

Two-bucket hand wash, wheels and arches degreased, badges and shuts cleaned out.

Chemical iron and industrial fallout removal, then a clay treatment to lift bonded contamination.

Tape-up of trim, rubbers and sensitive edges before any machine work.

Cement, render and overspray removed safely before any machine work — mechanical scrubbing is what causes the damage.

Tub rails, tailgate edge, bar and accessory mounting points cleaned and coated as part of the job.

Two-stage correction on Shadow Black to remove delivery swirls properly rather than fill them.

Panel wipe with a coating-safe solvent to strip polishing oils and reveal the true finish.

Fireball ceramic coating applied by hand, levelled panel by panel under controlled lighting.

IR / controlled cure, then a final inspection and handover pack with aftercare instructions.
