What we see most on BYDs
Soft clear coat marring
Wash marks appear very easily, particularly on the darker Cosmos Black and Atlantis Grey finishes.
Delivery and transport marks
Shipping and pre-delivery handling frequently leave scuffs and light scratches.
Finish inconsistency
Occasional orange peel and texture variance between panels — identified at inspection.

The ute variant picks up the usual loading damage on the tub rails and tailgate.
How we prep a BYD before coating
Preparation is the job. The coating is the last hour of it.

Full inspection under LED and swirl-finder lighting, with paint depth readings recorded panel by panel.

Two-bucket hand wash, wheels and arches degreased, badges and shuts cleaned out.

Chemical iron and industrial fallout removal, then a clay treatment to lift bonded contamination.

Tape-up of trim, rubbers and sensitive edges before any machine work.

Full inspection with defect documentation before correction — we set clear expectations on what's factory and what's fixable.

Light-cut correction matched to soft clear coat, refined to a haze-free finish.

Panel wipe with a coating-safe solvent to strip polishing oils and reveal the true finish.

Fireball ceramic coating applied by hand, levelled panel by panel under controlled lighting.

IR / controlled cure, then a final inspection and handover pack with aftercare instructions.
